Patricia King Haddad
Composer, performer Patricia King Haddad, known for her work with the Brazilian group Minas, took a big turn in her music ventures when an old family story about a water jug pulled her out of her sleep in the middle of the night some five years ago. That got her writing a book, which also inspired the musical work, La Giara (The Water Jug), performed with a cast of singers, ensemble, narrator and video integration.
Patricia holds a Bachelor of Music degree in classical voice from North Carolina School of the Arts and Masters in Jazz Piano Performance from University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where she studied composition. Based in Philadelphia for over 30 years, Patricia and her husband, Orlando Haddad, have recorded, produced and released 6 albums of original music on their own label, Blue Azul Records.
