Join us for a summer evening of fiercely feminist fantasy, with debut author Bree Barton in conversation with New York Times best-selling novelist Nova Ren Suma.
Barton's HEART OF THORNS is a fierce feminist teen fantasy, set in a world where only women have magic—and every woman is suspected of having it. Nova Ren Suma's THE WALLS AROUND US is a ghostly story of suspense told in two voices--one still living and one dead.
Bree Barton is a writer in Los Angeles. When she's not lost in whimsy, she works as a ghostwriter and dance teacher to teen girls. She is on Instagram and YouTube as Speak Breely, where she posts funny videos of her melancholy dog. Bree is not a fan of corsets.
Nova Ren Suma is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Walls Around Us, which was a finalist for an Edgar Award. Her previous novels include Imaginary Girls and 17 & Gone. She has an MFA in fiction from Columbia University and was a fiction fellow with the New York Foundation for the Arts. She teaches at Vermont College of Fine Arts. Originally from the Hudson Valley, she now lives in New York City.
