Bring your little ones out for a special story time with local writer/illustrator Sarah Claxton! She'll be celebrating the release of her second picture book "Square: How Our Complex Emotions Make Each Of Us Unique and Wonderful."
Sarah Claxton is an artist, mom, and dinner dance party enthusiast living in West Mt. Airy, Philadelphia with her husband Eric, son Fritz, and too many cats to name. She's a complex person who believes that life can, in fact, be pretty simple. Though a photographer by training, over the years she has expanded her repertoire to include illustration and writing. Sarah makes art her business and her hobbies include traveling and starting other businesses. She’s pretty small but she packs a punch.
Dive in for a weekend of events down in the deep of the deep! Octopsuses, kraken, giant squid, merpeople, whales, and more!
Join Big Blue Marble as we welcome Mt. Airy's own apiarist Stephanie Bruneau and her new book, The Benevolent Bee: Capture the Bounty of the Hive through Science, History, Home Remedies and Craft ! Stephanie will be leading a Honey Bee Q&A and a simple beeswax craft, and of course she'll be signing her new book. (It's already on our shelf - check it out, it's beautiful).
Come at 10:30 for our regular Saturday morning story time, which will feature books about bees!
